MUSCAT : Acting in cooperation with Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Economy today held a workshop for members of the national working team tasked with realizing sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The workshop was held within the context of preparations to issue Oman’s second voluntary report on achieving SDGs 2030.
Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Ma’awali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, underlined the significance of the workshop in terms of preparation of Oman’s national report on achieving SDGs 2030, which is scheduled to be reviewed during the next session of the UN High-Level Political Forum in July 2024. The review will be an opportunity to highlight Oman’s efforts towards realizing SDGs 2030.

The workshop hosted Dr. Subramaniam Venkatraman, an international expert specialized in sustainable development reports at the UNESCO Regional Office.
The workshop included an overview of SDGs listed in the 2024 High-Level Political Forum and a mid-way review and evaluation of SDGs. Emphasis was laid on lessons learned from countries’ experiences, major challenges and issues to be considered when drafting Oman’s second voluntary report.
