MUSCAT : The ROP statement reads as follows: “The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has monitored a fraudulent method in which the defendants use the name of a local company to announce the sale of a specific commodity via WhatsApp; after filling in the bank data in the electronic link attached to the advertisement, the money is withdrawn from outside the Sultanate of Oman.”
The Royal Oman Police advises citizens and residents not to open electronic links unless they are sure of their reliability and not to disclose personal data or bank accounts via social media.
