Muscat – The clarification stated that to ensure the quality and safety of products before they are traded in the markets, the Omani-Gulf Standard Specification for liquid synthetic detergents for fabrics and clothing specifies the requirements and explanatory data for manufacturers, traders and consumers.
“When using detergent products, consumers must adhere to the warnings mentioned in the standard specifications, including the need to take into account the method of preservation and safe storage inside the house – out of the reach of children. Use of gloves to avoid the possibility of peeling or drying of the skin,” the Ministry explained.
It also listed the requirements that must be met in liquid synthetic detergents that contain effective synthetic materials for the purpose of using them in washing fabrics and clothes by washing machines and hand wash.
The standard for liquid synthetic detergents for fabrics and clothing demands an introduction of the product, quality and safety guarantee and the method of using the product.
Explanatory data in Arabic and English needs to specify product name and type, the factory name, supplier and its brand, volume or net weight, production and validity date or batch number, country of origin, components, Instructions for use and storage methods.
