‘Oman Competition for AI-Enhanced Drones’

Muscat: The Ministry, in partnership with Sultan Qaboos University and with the support of the Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo Oman), announced the opening of registration for the fifth and sixth batches of the Oman Competition program for drones that are enhanced with artificial intelligence.

Registration is open until August 31 for Omanis, who are either studying for a Bachelor’s degree or graduates with knowledge of programming (Python language, preferable) and English language.
The program includes workshops and training courses to establish and refine the skills of the participants. The program also includes an annual competition for drones equipped with artificial intelligence systems.

The program targets students and graduates of universities and colleges who are looking to acquire new technical skills that enable them to actively participate in the production of technical solutions and thus contribute to building an economic market and creating jobs in the field of drones.

The program also aims to prepare and support the winning participants to compete in regional and international competitions. Participants will receive graduation certificates from the program and the winners will be honored with valuable prizes. The training program combines the theoretical and practical aspects and in the field of artificial intelligence-enhanced drones, targeting students and job seekers.

The best performing participants will qualify for the annual competition to be held in February 2024, which has two tracks: Manual control path and AI-enhanced self-control path.
