Muscat – The fishing vessel ‘Acila was launched from the Sultan Qaboos Port in Muttrah, under the auspices of H.E. Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, yesterday, August 20.
The vessel has been designed according to the highest international standards and reflects sustainable fishing practices and economic growth in the fisheries sector in the country.
Acila is the 792nd vessel of the renowned Zamakona Shipyard in Pasaia, Spain, and was commissioned by the state-owned Al Wusta Fisheries Industries. It has a capacity of up to 1,800 cubic meters, making it ideal for operations in the Indian Ocean, where it will target different types of tuna in international waters.
