Oman supports sustainable digital health solutions at G20 meet

Muscat – Addressing the G20 Health Ministers’ Meeting in India, H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, stated Oman’s intent to support the implementation of National Digital Health Strategy aligned with the WHO norms, standards, and guidance.

He affirmed Oman’s support to the proposed framework on the development of the regional network for research in vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics
“We call for and welcome the collaboration with G20 member countries, international organizations, private institutions and manufacturers, in making the best of my country’s potential in the global healthcare ecosystem.

“Oman supports the initiatives outlined in the three priority areas, believing that by converging, consolidating, and creating a healthier tomorrow, resilient, sustainable, and inclusive health systems will be built,” he explained.

He indicated that the Sultanate of Oman has good research institutions and capabilities across the horizon of One Health, which has contributed in the past to research and development of vaccines, and could play a key role in the future preparing for emerging diseases and other medical countermeasures. He also called on the G20 member states, international organisations, private institutions and factories to make the most of the potential of the Sultanate of Oman in the global healthcare ecosystem.
