Muscat – The CPA stated that its judicial control officers detected the violation during field visits. They observed that a number of commercial establishments sold counterfeit filters (spare parts) that were wrapped in a cover bearing one of the well-known trademarks as original filters.

They monitored these establishments for several weeks and noticed that a truck supplied the spare parts stores with counterfeit filters wrapped in a cover bearing the original trademark, which was then being sold to consumers at the price of the original products.

The CPA classified it as deception and noted that it was misleading consumers about the reality and type of goods.

As per the regulations, necessary legal measures were taken; the items were confiscated in preparation for their destruction and the violators were arrested.
