Muscat – The initiative will also achieve a number of secondary goals, including enhancing the spirit of competition among the establishments and the continuous development of services provided to the consumer by them.
It aims to reduce the percentage of consumer complaints against these establishments, in addition to increasing awareness of consumer rights and the duties of the provider to consumers and workers in commercial, industrial and service establishments. It will also achieve sustainability by developing strategies that meet consumer needs.
The first phase of the initiative will target all commercial establishments. Following that, industrial and service industries that aim to provide excellent services to Omani consumers and residents will be assessed based on three main areas: customer focus, customer satisfaction mechanisms, and meeting consumer needs.
The evaluation will encompass registration, assessment, analysis, and result presentation stages to ensure transparency and accountability. The initiative is expected to enhance consumer confidence and loyalty, increase corporate sustainability, and market competitiveness to create a healthy and friendly environment for consumers, in addition to promoting investments based on the good reputation that establishments can obtain through the approved certificate and the detailed report that includes the market, the sector, and the establishment.
It will also raise the level of consumer loyalty, which will be reflected in the revenues achieved. Case studies will be utilized in benchmarking, innovative analytical reports and market cleaning of negative practices. This will contribute to the improvement of the business environment, especially the retail and services sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and the consolidation of the concept of social responsibility among establishments.
It is worth noting that the Friendly Establishments initiative is a part of the tenth strategic plan for CPA, emanating from Oman Vision 2040. The initiative focuses on achieving a number of themes, including raising the efficiency of services provided to consumers in the retail, commercial, industrial, and economic services sectors, and working according to certain standards commensurate with legislation and laws and regulations in force in the Sultanate. The positive and negative aspects of the initiative will also be identified in order to develop and improve the quality of services provided.
