MUSCAT – Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the total number of hotel guests grew by 27.4 percent to OMR 943,068 by the end of June 2023, compared to OMR 740,050 during the corresponding period in 2022. Hotel occupancy posted a growth of 10.8 percent.
According to the NCSI, 337,682 of hotel guests were Omanis, 72,849 were GCC citizens (up by 28.7 percent), 250,151 were European citizens (increase of 46.3 percent), 29,899 were Americans (up by 3.2 percent) and 5,451 were citizens from African countries (41.3 percent up). The number of hotel guests from Asian countries increased by 54 percent to 141,007, and guests from Oceania countries surged by 252.2 percent to reach 21,834.
