Muscat – The patent was granted to innovators Suleiman bin Khamis Al Khawaldi Shaima bint Taher Al Saadia for the tracking device, and to Bader bin Salim Al-Muqbali for the loop linkage unit.
The device for tracking fishermen’s boats and vessels and for calculating the quantity of caught fish is an electronic one with assembled and programmed parts. It is equipped with sensors for weight, theft, temperature and humidity, and location, along with a small display screen for data. It can issue alerts to fishermen in the event of leaving the territorial waters.
It defines fishing areas and prohibited areas, provides directions and alerts as well as an interactive map with data.
The second invention – remote control to operate the loop linkage unit – is a device that replaces the engineer who operates the units in switching the status of the keys of the equipment in terms of performing the opening, closing, and grounding functions. The device can be controlled remotely via a wireless remote control and can also be connected to a rechargeable battery.
