After the exquisite musical ‘Wonka’, Timothee will now be set to play Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic. 

The biopic about the folk singer who became a rock sensation, directed by James Mangold, was originally scheduled to begin filming in the summers of 2020. However, with period costumes becoming essential, it seemed like a difficult one to pull off after the hoopla phase when everything became silent as Corona travelled to the lands. 

A sneak peek into the film plot 

Due to the musical change in the 1960s, this was formerly known as ‘Going electric’; it is now referred to as ‘A complete unknown’. The chorus of one of Dylan’s best known songs, ‘Like a rolling stone’, serves as the inspiration for this title. 

The story of the film is reported to include Dylan dropping out from college in 1960, at the age of 19, his meteoric rise to fame, and the motorbike accident that irreparably marred his voice. 

Main protagonists in the movie

Of course, Timothee, an Oscar contender, would play Bob Dylan in the primary role; Sylvia Russo, a university student and artist who was his early 1960s love interest, will be portrayed by Elle Fanning. 

Additionally, Monica Barbaro, who plays Joan Baez, the so-called ‘queen of folks’, is on board. Pete Seeger, who had an early effect on Dylan’s sound, musicianship, and activism and who also helped make possible Dylan’s debut album, will be portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in the meanwhile.

Update on the trailers and release date 

The movie’s production is reportedly set to begin this month and film buffs are hopeful to catch glimpses of the production team’s daily life on social media.

The movie’s release date hasn’t been decided, but it’s safe to speculate that it will happen sometime in the first half of 2024.
