MUSCAT : The Sohar Primary Court has issued judicial rulings against violators of the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations, condemning them to imprisonment and a fine.
As per the CPA statement, the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate received a complaint from a consumer against a trading and contracting establishment, which had agreed to install decoration works at his house for a fee of OMR 4300.
The work was scheduled to be completed within three months; however, the institution did not abide by the concluded contract.

The complaint was transferred to the competent authorities, which convicted the accused of non-compliance with the provision of service and ruled that each of the accused be punished with two months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 300.
