Muscat: The TRA is inviting all users of postal services and stakeholders to express their views on the environmental sustainability initiatives of postal services, by visiting the public consultation page via the link by August 17 – https://tra.gov.om/ViewPublicConsultations.jsp?code=52
The Authority seeks to contribute to the implementation of the environmental goals of Oman Vision 2040, through environmental initiatives aimed at reducing emissions, rationalizing energy consumption, and reducing environmentally polluting materials used in postal activity and delivery services.
“Increased demand for postal and delivery services trigged by e-commerce has led the sector to further utilize vehicle fleets (commercial and private) on a national level for its postal activities which impacts the environment,” it stated.
The public consultation aims to develop an agile regulatory environment, understand stakeholder needs and expectations, enhance the services provided, and enable investment in innovative technologies and services.
