MUSCAT – The Ministry stated that the new service is part of the ‘Medical Fitness Examination System for Residency Purpose’, which allows residents and companies to easily obtain the results of medical examinations to renew residency or obtain residency cards from service centers in the civil affairs. It also allows obtaining visas for the first time. The Ministry’s circular stated: “The system aims to increase transparency, reduce counterfeit reports, and save time and effort in issuing medical reports through electronic linkage with the Royal Oman Police (ROP).”
The system will benefit entrepreneurs and individuals wishing to recruit expatriate workers; private sector hospitals and centers that provide medical examination services for expatriates; and the Directorate General of Disease Surveillance and Control to follow up, manage, and control the system, and obtain the necessary statistics. The Medical Fitness Examination System for Residents will ensure transparency and limits fraud, enhance ease of extracting medical examination reports, save time and effort for the beneficiary to complete transaction accurately, enable officials to manage and follow up work procedures directly and connect between several ministries to ensure service automation.
Services provided by the system include medical examination for expatriates for the purpose of residency to work or for renewal; medical examination to issue or renew the health card; medical examination to obtain or restore Omani citizenship; medical examination to obtain or renew a study visa; medical examination to obtain or renew a family entry visa; and medical examination for technical teams and sailors (enrolment or renewal).
“You can access the Medical Fitness Examination System on our website: Access to the system requires the civil ID or mobile phone number, which are both electronically authenticated,” the Ministry stated.
