MUSCAT – The Ministry wished them success in their pioneering mission aboard the Falcon 9 rocket, heading to the International Space Station, as part of Saudi Arabia’s scientific mission. Saudi astronauts Rayyanah Barnawi and Ali Al Qarni are the first Saudi astronauts to travel to ISS; breast cancer researcher Rayyanah Barnawi is the first Saudi woman astronaut. The team also includes former NASA Astronaut Peggy Whitson and US businessman John Shoffner.
