MUSCAT : The Directory contains information and data related to Oman’s museums, in addition to the requirements and criteria for establishing a private museum or heritage house; a list of licensed private museums and heritage houses and their specializations. The introduction of the Directory reads as follows: ‘Museums and private heritage houses are individual experiences through which their owners try to display many holdings, antiquities and treasures of the national heritage. They also seek to preserve this heritage so that future generations can know the manifestations of civilization and the Omani national heritage identity.’
