MUSCAT : Oman won first place in the Kuwait International Sailing Championship 2023, organized by the Sail, Rowing and Kayak Committee, at the Maritime Sports Club. Oman’s Hood Al-Nawfali won first place and the gold medal in the young adult category, while sailor Hassan Al-Alawi won the silver medal in the category. Sailor Tamim Al-Balushi earned the silver medal in the general category of the championship.
Oman in the championship with its national team of six Omani sailors, namely, Sailor Sultan Ahmed Al Mutawa, Sailor Youssef Ahmed Al Mutawa, Sailor Tamim Suleiman Al-Balushi, Sailor Jibril Zaif Al-Harthy, Sailor Hassan Al-Alawi and Sailor Hood Al-Nawfali, and last but not the least, coach Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Zadjali.
The 13th edition of the tournament witnessed the participation of 83 sailors from Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, France, and Venezuela, in addition to the GCC countries.
