MUSCAT– The Ministry of Education, in an announcement, stated that the training program began with a review of two working papers on ‘Introducing the Electronic Preparation Platform System’ and ‘Practical Applications on the Platform’ at the computer labs of Al-Khwarizmi Primary School and Hafsa Bint Sereen Primary School Education. The program also included direct training on the platform by AbduIlah bin Jaafar Al-Ajmi, Head of the Systems Selection and Analysis Department, Sultan bin Khaled Al-Yarubi, Head of the Systems Management Department, and Khalid bin Salem Al-Jabri, information systems specialist, from the Directorate General Information Technology.
The pilot application of the project seeks to first train teachers, educational supervisors, school administrators and systems specialists, and familiarize them with the mechanism of using the electronic preparation platform system. It aims to improve the educational sector and enrich the implementation of the platform by using strategies and tools based on e-learning technology and employing information and communication technology in the fields of teacher work. It will further facilitate the follow-up process for daily preparation of lessons as per various levels of follow-up and enhance participation between teachers and supervisors in the field of electronic preparation.
The Ministry defines electronic preparation as a new digital window to develop and facilitate the teacher’s tasks, enhance professional performance, and develop the educational supervision system. The implementation of this program comes in light of the national cooperation and partnership between the Ministry of Education and a number of private sector institutions to provide support for digital initiatives in education through the launch of the electronic preparation platform project.
