MUSCAT– Summarizing the case, the CPA stated that it had received information about an expatriate worker possessing, trading, distributing and selling types of smokeless chewing tobacco. Accordingly, the Authority, represented by the Department of Market Regulation and Control, obtained a search warrant from the Public Prosecution, and formed a team to control the violator. In coordination with the Public Prosecution and the Royal Oman Police in Muscat, the site was raided and the culprit was arrested at his residence – 4535 bags of different types of tobacco in his possession was seized, along with an estimated OMR 1800.
