MUSCAT : Glam Homes brush past OCT Ruwi by 3 wickets in the A Division powered by Khimji Ramdas and Khalsa United CT beat Mordern Muscat Mountains by 17 runs in the C Division powered by Credit Oman SAOC , of the Oman Cricket Domestic League Season 2022-23.
In a high octane A division season this year, it was the match for the race of the prize. Glam Homes Properties put OCT Ruwi to bat first. OCT Ruwi started off steadily with Mohammed Al Balushi (95 of 114; 12×4,3×6) steering them along with Muzaffar Mohammed and Shoaib Al Balushi helping OCT Ruwi create a base to set a good total. Wasim Al Balushi’s pinch hitting in the death overs helped OCT Ruwi post a mammoth total of 267/6 in 50 overs. Nalinda Prasad (3/33) was the key armer for Glam Homes in their bowling. In response, Glam Homes’ openers Arbaz Qureshi and Pathum W helped them get off to a start they needed to be in the race. However, quality bowling spells from Zubair Al Balushi (2/58) and Nawed Al Balushi (2/44) brought the game to life as Glam Homes fell 5 down in 30 overs at 132 runs. Faizan Abdullah (55 of 53; 4×4,1×6) and Eameen Habib (51 of 44; 5×4,1×6) stood tall and dominated the OCT Ruwi bowlers to get their team across the line and register victory in the 48th over. Glam Homes went on to the top of the table with one game to go for them.
In the match in C division, Khalsa United CT posted a target of 172/6 in 20 overs for Mordern Muscat Mountains courtesy Sushil Kadam’s (66 of 49; 6×4) supported by Usman Asghar’s pinch hitting to post a par-score. Sidhi Suman (2/27) was the key bowler for the Mordern Muscat Mountains. In response, Syed Arfan (54 of 40; 4×4) and Pradeesh Kumar (41 of 36; 4×4) carried the innings for the Mountains but fell short by 17 runs to take their team over the line. Usman Asghar bagged 2 wickets to ensure victory for Khalsa United CT.
