MUSCAT : Muscat Municipality has imposed a ban on feeding birds in public, especially pigeons. Signboards have been put up in places urging citizens and residents to refrain from doing the same.
The Municipality has recently raised concerns regarding the practice, as it may lead to health concerns in people and can affect the neighbourhood, along with ruining the beauty of the place. In fact, in a survey conducted by the municipality regarding the same, 60% of responders agreed that feeding pigeons and birds in public may pose a threat to public health and can affect the environment.
