MUSCAT– 2023 will see the addition of a lot of new shows and movies to the Netflix lineup, to the satisfaction of fans of every genre. Whether you’re a fan of anime or animated shows in general or a fan of serious dramas dealing with social issues, there is something new for everyone this year!
Scattered Barriers
Kicking off this list is Oman’s first-ever Netflix original show. Scattered Barriers tells the story of ‘Nasser’, a cab driver who refused to believe and accept the grave danger posed by the COVID-19 pandemic until he loses his mother to the virus. He falls into a cycle of blaming himself and refrains from accepting the new reality until he realizes the true meaning of the unity of the family and society, following which he strives to improve his life in honor of his mother. A must-watch, for sure!

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War (second cour)
Having released 13 episodes already, revealing shocking twists and concluding the first cour of this highly anticipated anime which made a return to the screen after 10 long years, fans will have to wait a little more to witness the second part of the story. To see how Ichigo fares with the Sternritters with his newly-forged dual zanpaktou, and what Yhwach is up to next, fans will have to wait until July of this year.

Maestro
Fans have been waiting for Bradley Cooper’s next directorial venture for a while now, and Maestro is the answer to their prayers. Cooper has directed and co-written Maestro, a biopic about the life of master composer Leonard Bernstein, who is regarded as the first American conductor to earn international acclaim. Apart from Bradley Cooper himself, the upcoming Netflix film also stars Carey Mulligan, Jeremy Strong, Matt Bomer, and Maya Hawke.

Bridgerton Season 3
The third season of regency-era romantic period drama Bridgerton will focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)—a.k.a. Lady Whistledown—whose heart was broken after overhearing her long-time crush Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) say some not-so-kind words about her. If you are a fan of fancy dramas set against the backdrop of royalty, this might be a good time to catch up on the earlier seasons of this show, as the release date for the third season is yet to be revealed.
