MUSCAT- The Royal Oman Police has started an effort to warn citizens about organized fraudulent activities by passing out leaflets and spreading awareness about how to stay safe from these traps and what to do when encountering one. Represented by the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Investigation, the ROP monitored organized fraudulent operations targeting commercial establishments and individuals, during which fraudsters intrude on electronic commercial transactions, steal data, and impersonate companies related to purchases by using similar identifiers with the aim of receiving money from the other party.

Through the leaflet, ROP warned citizens and residents not to fall into the trap of electronic fraud methods and emphasized the need to verify the identifiers and accounts of the companies that are dealt with. The Royal Oman Police called for immediate reporting when exposed to such criminal methods via the hotline 80077444.
