BAGHDAD: Adnan Dirjal, head of Iraq’s Football Federation, announced during a press conference on Saturday the launch of Gulf Cup ticket sales. The Federation shared a link for the ticketing website on Facebook, with ticket prices ranging between $10 to $30.
The Gulf Cup is a regional football competition hosted by Iraq for over 40 years and is a source of great pride for the country. This announcement seeks to attract football fans from across the Gulf region, particularly Kuwait, whose border with Iraq lies less than 50 km from Basra. One of Basra’s stadiums has a seating capacity of 65,000, while another has a capacity of 30,000, and will be inaugurated on Monday with a friendly match between two local clubs from Iraq and Kuwait.
