LONDON : The design of the first set of banknotes to feature Britain’s new Monarch, King Charles III, has been unveiled by the Bank of London. This set of new notes will start circulating in mid-2024, while notes featuring the Queen will be in circulation as well.
The Monarch’s portrait will appear on the existing designs of all four polymer banknotes in the denominations of 5, 10, 20, and 50 pounds. Interestingly, King Charles III is the second Monarch to feature on UK banknotes.
