Muscat – Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information also indicated that the total volume of foreign assets of the Central Bank of Oman decreased by 11.9 percent by the end of September 2022, to reach OMR 6,249,400,000, compared to OMR 7.94 billion during the previous year.
The money supply in the narrow sense, which consists of total cash outside the banking system, in addition to current accounts and demand deposits in local currency, increased slightly by 1.8 percent to reach RO 5,841,900,000 compared to OMR 5,740,100,000 during the same period in 2021.
On the other hand, total private sector deposits with commercial banks and Islamic windows in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 0.3 percent, to reach OMR 17,302,400,000 by the end of September 2022, compared to OMR 17,245,900,000 during the same period in 2021.

The data indicated an increase in total loans and financing in commercial banks by 3.9 percent, to reach OMR 28,784,400,000 at the end of September 2022, compared to OMR 27,696,500,000 during the same period in 2021.
he actual exchange rate index for the Omani riyal increased by 12.6 percent, to record 118.2 points, compared to 105 points in the same period in 2021, while the total cash exported at the end of last September decreased by 6.7 percent, to reach OMR 1,606,900,000, compared to OMR 1,722,200,000 by the end of September 2021.
