DOHA : While Brazil earned a 2-0 victory against Serbia in their last match, the injury Neymar sustained during the match put the Brazil forward’s predicament in this World Cup in front of a question mark. Concerns rose to the extent where the team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar was all but certain that the star will not participate in Brazil’s matches during the group stage.
While that may still be the case, Brazil Team Manager Tite expressed his confidence that Neymar will play again at the 2022 World Cup at some point. Tite has admitted fault for not replacing Neymar sooner, rather than benching him at the 80th minute of the match, claiming he was unaware that the forward had had an injury. With both Neymar and Danilo having sustained ankle injuries, fans were unsure whether the duo will return at all this World Cup.
However, the team manager stated at a news conference on Sunday that he anticipates having both players available at some point in the competition. “I believe that Neymar and Danilo will play in the World Cup. I believe in that. Medically, and clinically, they can talk more about the stages of the treatment. [But] I have no place to talk. I trust that we will be able to use both of them.”
