MUSCAT : Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has successfully concluded the 2022 edition of its landmark Tadhamun programme, which is implemented annually in line with the bank’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and community service. The bank executed the programme for the 10th consecutive year, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, with a joint team distributing household appliances to over 200 social welfare families across different governorates in the Sultanate. A number of volunteers from the bank participated in the programme and distributed over 800 household appliances including air conditioners, refrigerators and other appliances to the beneficiary families.

It is a matter of great encouragement to the bank’s strong efforts in social responsibility that the Tadhamun programme has so far benefitted 1,880 families since being launched in 2013. This year too, the programme was implemented in cooperation with specialists from the Ministry of Social Development, who received applications and finalised the list of families entitled for the benefits. The bank has been particularly encouraged by its partnership with the ministry on a number of initiatives including Tadhamun in line with its commitment to Public-Private Partnership. Bank Muscat also took the opportunity to thank the Ministry of Social Development and members of its volunteer team for the successful implementation of the programme.

Bank Muscat, which is Oman’s leading financial services provider, runs several long-term social responsibility projects including Green Sports, Al Wathbah SME Academy, the Maliyat financial literacy programme and Irshad financial coaching, which are all aimed at supporting different segments of Omani society. This year, the bank extended its support to 20 youth sports teams as part of its flagship Green Sports programme. The bank has recently signed an agreement to implement an advanced training programme for 30 Omani entrepreneurs. Bank Muscat also continues to closely partner with the Royal Oman Police to curb cyber fraud through repeated awareness campaigns for the general public.

Over the past decades, the bank has been working closely with government institutions and a number of civil-society organisations to support programmes, which create sustainable, positive changes in communities across the Sultanate. As a result, Bank Muscat was once again honoured in 2022 by the Ministry of Social Development for its pioneering role in Corporate Social Responsibility.
