MUSCAT : Omani Startups programme seeks to disseminate the culture of startups in educational institutions and society, and comes in line with Oman Vision 2040, which gives priority to economic diversification and fiscal sustainability.

The first meeting was aimed at enhancing the scheme of innovation-based companies that utilize advanced technology in the Sultanate of Oman.

Halima Rashid Al Zar’ee, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) told ONA that the programme seeks to empower innovative ideas, support the establishment of innovation-based startups and link them to business, investment and financing opportunities, thereby offering them better exposure to local and global markets.

The programme is a step forward in elevating Oman’s ranking in international indices related to innovation, technology and ease of doing business, Halima added.
