MUSCAT: Blood moon, which occurs when total lunar eclipse takes place during the full moon, will not be directly visible in Oman. The time scheduled for the penumbral eclipse is 12:02 noon, Oman time; it will continue until 5:56pm, when the penumbral eclipse will end. The same, however, will not be directly visible in Oman.
Total phase of this lunar eclipse will not visible in Muscat, but the same can be observed as a penumbral lunar eclipse, say experts. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth’s shadow – the penumbra. However, penumbral lunar eclipse is not easy to witness, as the shadowed part is only a little bit fainter than the rest of the Moon.
