MUSCAT : IAS CT beat Majees CT by a mere 1 wicket and Zawawi Powertech beat Renaissance by just 7 runs in the Premier Division of Oman Cricket’s Season 2022-23 powered by Muscat Pharmacy.

In the 1^st match, electing to bowl first, IAS CT got its 1^st wicket in the 1^st over of the game. Although , Khurram Khan and Karan Kannan had different plans to take the IAS bowlers to the alley. Khurram Khan scored a blistering 130 with 12 fours and 3 sixes well supported by Karan Kannan scoring 62 runs with 8 boundaries and a six. Courtesy of the 158 run stand between the two, Majees ended up with 269 on the board losing 8 wickets. Waseem Akhtar was the lone armer claiming 4 wickets for just 41 runs. In to bat, IAS too lost its 1^st wicket in the 1^st over but Sufyan Yousuf’s match defying innings of 88 off 108 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes turned the ship towards IAS. Mansoor Mazher’s blitz of 56 with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes with 1 six in the end to chase down 269 was the show-stopper for IAS. Karan Kannan and Sahil Shaik claimed 2 wickets each. In the 2^nd match, Renaissance elected to bowl first against the newcomers Powertech. Powertech got off to a stable start but kept losing wickets with just 100 with 5 down at halfway. Imran Ayoob held the helm of the Powertech innings scoring sublime 62 of 73 matches with 4 fours and 1 six to get Zawawi’s total to 233 for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Aqil Khan , Sufyan Mahmood and Asif Khan bagged 2 wickets each. In return, Powertech kept taking wickets at regular interval to restrict Renaissance by 7 runs from chasing their target. Hammad Mirza was the highest scorer notching 46 runs of 53 balls. Imran Ayoob was the key wrecker claiming 5 wickets by conceding just 39 runs.
