Total phase of this lunar eclipse will not visible in Muscat, but the same can be observed as a penumbral lunar eclipse, say experts. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth’s shadow – the penumbra. However, penumbral lunar eclipse is not easy to witness, as the shadowed part is only a little bit fainter than the rest of the Moon.

According to online resources, the eclipse will reach its greatest magnitude at 5.25 pm, when the entire moon is above the horizon in Muscat. While this is not visible in Muscat as the moon is below the horizon at that time, sky watchers recommend going to a high point or finding an unobstructed area with free sight to East-northeast for the best view of the eclipse.
