MUSCAT: The Memorandum of Understanding provides avenues for discussion of cooperation opportunities between the two parties in areas related to supporting innovation and research and advisory projects for students studying at the university. This will allow them to enhance their skills and provide them with appropriate training in projects operated by facilities in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
The memorandum of understanding provides for cooperation between the two institutions in renewable and clean energy projects, which contributes to strengthening the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman to invest in clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Eng. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Hashmi, Executive Director of Marafiq Company and Dr. Hussain bin Suleiman Al-Salmi, Deputy Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs, GUtech.
The CEO of Marafiq stated that the memorandum of understanding reflects the interest of both parties in striving to achieve the Sultanate of Oman’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, in addition to supporting research projects related to the energy and water sectors and qualifying and training various cadres. In light of this, Marafiq undertakes the financing of five scholarships for German university students in different specializations.
