MUSCAT: In the face of criticism for charging $ 19.99 or about OMR 8 per month from Twitter users who want to get their accounts verified or keep their accounts verified, Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, has made an alternative offer.
In a series of tweets on his personal account, he stated that he now plans to charge $8 or about OMR 3 per month as subscription service for verifying accounts with the blue tick, which he calls Twitter Blue.
Elon also revealed that subscribers will get priority in responses and search, in addition to the ability to post longer video and audio content, with half the number of ads shown to users without a subscription.
“This will give a revenue stream to reward content creators, and there will be a secondary mark below the name of a person who is a public figure, which is already true for politicians,” he added.
