MUSCAT : The 5-day Awareness Week, which began yesterday at the Environment Authority headquarters, will go a long way in creating a safe work environment – one that is free from threats.
The Week will include the implementation of workshops on electronic information security and related laws and legislations, in addition to lectures on cyber security.
Dr. Ali bin Salem Al Balushi, Director of the Electronic Defense Center, under whose patronage the Week is being held, stressed, in a statement, on the importance of the Cyber Security Awareness Week, implemented by the Environment Authority. He indicated that accelerated developments in this field could also lead to issues concerning security limitations, on the level of individuals, society and institutions.

He highlighted that the participation of the Electronic Defense Center focuses on some legislations related to cyber security, in addition to introducing the center, and its competencies, the role it provides, and the mechanism of communication with it.
