MANAMA: The Sultanate of Oman’s Mubarak Al-Wahaibi bagged a bronze medal in the pool competitions of West Asian Billiards and Snooker Championship at the AlAhli Club complex in Mahooz here on Thursday night.
On his way to the podium, Mubarak posted wins over hosts Wael Al Qasimi 9-5, Jordan’s Ali Hassan Shahdar 9-5, Kuwaiti Abdullah Al-Enezi 9-4, hosts Ali Haider Maroom 9-8 while going down to Iranian Sina Valizah 7-9.
The achievement is expected to boost the Omani Billiards and Snooker Committee who were supporting the local talents by entering them in international competitions to gain valuable experience and tasted triumph in Manama.

Apart from Mubarak, Malik al Nabhani represented Oman in the snooker competitions while Abdullah al Raisi and Abdul Rahman al Ma’ashani represented in billiards events.
