MUSCAT: It explained in a tweet how even a small amount of lead can cause serious health problems. Children under the age of 7 are especially vulnerable to lead poisoning, which can severely affect mental and physical development. Lead poisoning at high levels may even lead to death.
To lower the chances of getting lead poisoning in adults and children, the following steps have been recommended by the Ministry:
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating; eat healthy food
• Get enough calcium and iron, as it may prevent the body from absorbing lead
• Make sure to clean your home and the environment around you and your children on a regular basis.
