MUSCAT: Based on the directives issued by the Directorate General of Passports and Residence (ROP), Oman Airports has issued a circular that all residents of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council have the right to enter the Sultanate for all commercial activities.

The notice, pertaining to the movement of residents in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, further states that it is not mandatory for the person arriving into the Sultanate to travel directly from the country of his/her residency. As an example, it stated that a resident of any GCC country is permitted at any time and from any destination they arrive from. “A foreigner residing in a Gulf city is not required to come from resident country to benefit from this facility; he/she is allowed at any time and from any destination,” the circular stated.

However, to avail this facility, it is required that the residence visa be valid in the GCC for a period of no less than three months.

“The procedures referred to above shall apply, bearing in mind the importance of complying with the policy of granting visas to the prohibited nationalities,” it stated.

“The procedures are applied taking into account the importance of adherence to the policy of granting visas to the prohibited nationalities,” the circular added.
