MUSCAT: The Omani Society of Writers has set this October 27 as the last date for receiving applications to participate in the Cultural Creativity Award for the year 2022.
The Society had previously announced the details of the Cultural Creativity Award for the year 2022, and began receiving applications for competition since September 28. In its thirteenth session, the Award, in its current version, includes six areas: short story, novel, folk poetry, literary studies, intellectual books, and memories of Oman.
The competition is open to all Omani writers, however – as stated in the first announcement when the award was launched – the writer is not entitled to participate in more than one of the competition’s branches.
As far as the conditions of the competition are concerned, participants need to ensure that the first edition of the participating book has been issued during the last four years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022), and the book has not previously won in a local or international competition; the work should be submitted with five Copies (non-returnable), and delivered at the association’s headquarters in Airport Heights or at one of its branches and committees in the governorates.
