Omani crowned as the best trained jockey in the UAE

Saif Al Balushi scored 19 title wins and 18 runner-ups during the last UAE racing season.

MUSCAT: Omani jockey Saif bin Hamad Al Balushi was crowned the best trained jockey of the Emirates Racing Authority Awards Ceremony at the Caesars Palace Hotel on Blue Waters Island in Dubai.


The crowning of the Omani knight came after the strong results – 19 first places, 18 times second places – during the 30th UAE horse racing season.


The Omani jockey, Saif Al Balushi, expressed his happiness for the honor which came with the “the great effort and sacrifice.”


Saif, 26, thanked all those who supported him and stood by him in order to reach this honorable level, especially the studs and stables he represents, and he also thanked the Emirates Racing Authority.


Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Racing Authority and Chairman of the Dubai Racing Club, inaugurated the ceremony.
