MUSCAT: Gold fell in spot transactions by 0.1% to reach $1627.04 an ounce, after it recorded during the previous session $1624.98 an ounce, while gold futures fell 0.1% to $1632.60 an ounce.
The latest data revealed that inflation continues to rise, exceeding the central bank’s target by about 2%.
On the other hand, the dollar index stabilized after rising 0.8 percent yesterday, Wednesday, while the yield on US 10-year Treasury bonds reached the highest level since mid-2008.
As for other precious metals, silver fell in spot transactions by 0.4 percent to 18.36 dollars an ounce, platinum fell 0.6 percent to 878.52 dollars an ounce, and palladium fell 0.6 percent to 1988.78 dollars an ounce.
