MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Traffic under Royal Oman Police is celebrating Traffic Safety Day, today. The Day marks the great achievements that have been made within this field, as well as serves as a platform for an exchange of ideas with regard to improvements in traffic safety.
The fact that the number of traffic related deaths has fallen by 51 percent over the last year, highlights the fact that steps within the field of traffic safety have been made.
Nevertheless, being cautious is of pertinent importance as traffic safety is not just limited to driving within speed limits or following road rules. Personal health could also be of concern while on road. To address this issue, the Ministry of Health, in a twitter post, advised people to check with the doctor or pharmacist if the medicine they are taking can cause drowsiness, so as to avoid any mishaps on the road.
