LISBON : The lone racing team from the Sultanate of Oman led by Omani driver Ahmad Al Harthy – Oman Racing – won second place in the last round of the European Le Mans Series at the Portimao Circuit in Portugal on Sunday night.

Ahmed Al Harthy led from start driving Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGTE G even but leads changed several times with eventual winner of Iron Lynx on Ferrari 488 GTE Evo LMGTE G.

Ahmed Al Harthy drove the car for about 130 minutes and worked hard driving for the longest period of time before handing the task to British rider Sam DeHaan in second place.

“This is the best result for us after a series of races when we were the unlucky ones. We missed in Imola, Italy and here too we fought valiantly for the title. We will all sit and evaluate our performances and will chart our plans for the next season,” said Ahmed Al Harthy.
