Value of Oman’s real estate trading decreased by 3.4%

The value of real estate trading in the Sultanate, until the end of August 2022, decreased by 3.4%, in comparison to the figures for the same period in 2021

MUSCAT: Real estate trading in the Sultanate of Oman, until the end of last August, was recorded at about OMR 1,584,800,000, a decrease of 3.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2021, which amounted to OMR 1,640,800,000.

Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that the number of properties issued at the end of last August amounted to 154,186 properties, while the number of properties issued to people of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 13.3 percent to 502 properties.

The figures revealed that the total value of real estate trading in the Sultanate of Oman amounted to about 192 million and OMR 400,000 during the month of August, a decrease of 9.7 percent compared to July 2022.

Preliminary statistics indicated that the fees collected for all legal transactions until the end of August 2022 amounted to OMR 40,300,000, a 34 percent decrease compared to the same period last year

The data also showed a decrease in the traded value of sales contracts by 0.04 percent, to record OMR 770,400,000, in addition to a 17.7 percent decrease in the number of sales contracts, to record 46,577 contracts, compared to 56,611 contracts during the same period in 2021.

Statistics showed a decrease in the traded value of mortgage contracts at the end of last August by 6.3 percent to reach 802 million and OMR 600,000, compared to OMR 856,300,000 during the same period in 2021, while the number of mortgage contracts amounted to 12,932 contracts, an increase of 4.3 percent over the same period.

The number of properties issued at the end of last August reached 154,186, a decrease of 6.8 percent over the same period in 2021, while the number of properties issued to people of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 13.3 percent to 502 properties, compared to 443 properties during the same period in 2021
