MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has awarded tenders worth OMR 80 million to various companies specialized in the field of infrastructure.
The decision was taken in coordination with the committee tasked with repairing roads damaged due to torrential rains, recently, in a number of governorates of the Sultanate.
In the governorates of North and South Al Batinah, the Ministry awarded a tender for the rehabilitation of Al Batinah Public Road in various locations, starting from Barka Bridge to Khatam Milaha in the Wilayat of Shinas, including painting works, repairing iron barriers, installing and replacing some guidelines, and constructing underpasses for vehicles to cross between both sides of the road in each of the following: Al-Malda-Al Sabikhi-Al Khuba-Dian Al Bawareh-Dian Al Buraik, in addition to the rehabilitation of separate sites on the Sohar-Wadi Al Jazi road and the Sohar-Yanqul road, and repairing the damages to the Wadi Mistel-Al Awabi-Nakhl road, in addition to repairing the damages of Wadi Bani Awf road and Wadi al Sahtan road and the road links linking a number of wadi villages in the governorates of North and South Al Batinah.

In Musandam Governorate, the Ministry awarded a tender to repair the damages on the Khalidiya-Khasab-Tibab road and the Madha-Hajar Bani Hamid road.
In North Al Sharqiyah, the ministry assigned repairs to the damages of Wadi Bani Khalid Road, and repairs to a number of roads in the wilayats of Dima, Al Tayyin and Al Mudhaibi.
