MUSCAT: H.E. Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Follow-up Unit for the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency that the establishment and activation of vision offices in government institutions will contribute to ensuring accurate follow-up of the implementation plans necessary to achieve the performance indicators of the vision, manage follow-up mechanisms, and diagnose and address challenges.

He added that the unit, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, has held several meetings to establish and activate vision offices in government institutions, and it will play its role in ensuring the accurate follow-up of the operational plans necessary to achieve the performance indicators of the vision in government agencies, managing follow-up mechanisms, and diagnosing and addressing challenges.

The Follow-up Unit, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, worked on developing a model for structuring its offices, terms of reference, work mechanisms, a framework for knowledge transfer, mechanisms for building programs, developing their indicators and following up on their implementation, in addition to addressing the challenges associated with establishing its offices in government agencies.

The unit also held workshops to transfer knowledge to the Vision offices of government agencies and launched a program to develop the capabilities and skills of their employees, in addition to preparing work environments in the relevant authorities in order to activate the role of these offices, and agree on a mechanism for following up and supporting priority programs, and raising the level of readiness of government agencies from. The training on work methodologies, the initiative development model, the mechanism for setting targets, building indicators and the follow-up mechanism, have benefitted more than 40 government agencies out of 59 so far.
