MUSCAT : Muscat Municipality is scheduled to start implementing the project early next year. The project will help raise the efficiency and flow of traffic, while enhancing the development and economic movement between the Governorate of Muscat and the Governorates of Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiya. It will shorten distances and serve plans of urban neighborhoods, adjacent to the road.
H.E. Malik bin Hilal Al-Yahmadi, member of the Shura Council and representative of the Wilayat of Bausher, expressed his gratitude for the lofty directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in the implementation of the Al-Ansab-Al-Jifnain road duality project. He stated that the people of Baushar and residents of the regions served by the dual road received the news of the project’s tender with joy after a long wait.
He told the Oman News Agency that when the dual carriageway is ready, it would contribute to solving many of the current problems, including traffic congestion on the Muscat Expressway, especially during rush hours, also causing slowdown in the development of the Misfah Industrial Area, and urban growth in residential areas located on both sides of the street track.

The first Falaj al-Sham roundabout will be replaced by a bridge with free lanes, and below it an intersection with free lanes will be established, and the second Falaj al-Sham roundabout will be replaced by a bridge with free lanes, and a tunnel will be established below it.
The project also includes the construction of four intersections with bridges and tunnels as follows: the creation of an intersection in the Al-Awabi area, which is the construction of a bridge with three free lanes in each direction, and below it an intersection with light signals, the creation of an intersection before the cement factory and the removal of existing roundabout, which is the construction of a bridge with overhead lights; a tunnel for the main road lane with three lanes in each direction, and the creation of an intersection at the entrance to the industrial area, which is the construction of a bridge with three free lanes in each direction, and below it an intersection with traffic signals and the creation of an intersection at the Al-Jifnain area. This will include the construction of a bridge with three free lanes in each direction, with an intersection below it comprising with traffic lights and improvement of service streets parallel to the project.
