MUSCAT: Mr. Gireesh Kumar Pillai the founder of the GK Group was conferred with Golden Visa by The Sultanate of Oman a few days back. GK group called for a press conference on the 2nd October 2022 at Sheraton Hotel, Muscat. The media brief started with Mr. Gireesh Kumar expressing his heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and the Government of Oman for the prestigious Golden Visa.  During the press conference, he had a special mention for Oman where he was quoted “This land has always been very kind and supportive to those people who stay true and humble”.

GK made his first step into business in Oman starting a Facility Management Firm further expanding his vision to Contract Staffing, HR and Personnel Solutions, Interior Designing, Automotive Services, Recruitment Consultant, Third-party service provider, Specialized cleaning, Pest Control and Sanitization. This established Group that we see today started with acquiring its 1^st company named “Modern Touch LLC” and from there it grew to 8 companies such as New Gateway LLC, Cooperation Facility Management Services LLC, Safooh Sohar, Confidence Group LLC, Happy Nights LLC, Atelier LLC, and Pitspot Automotive Services. 

Another major announcement during the evening was about the next big project of the GK Group of Companies which will be titled as GK Recruiters, and they have started its full-fledged operations in India today. The Oman wing of the recruitment firm is being set up on a priority basis and is expected to start its operations before the end of this year. Further expansion would be to UAE, rest of the MENA Region and UK. As per Mr. Gireesh Kumar “GK Recruiters will be offering the most modern technology and facilities which would be something new and unique to Oman. This new division has a plan in place to set up high-tech interview rooms for our clients to have one-on-one interviews with the candidates to have a real time confirmation process. As they have a strong base in Oman and as they are available in the Market, they would be an easily approachable brand. GK Group has a wide Network throughout India & Oman, sourcing the Right Candidates for the Right Job and this will be a task they can flawlessly carry out”.  

Mr. Gireesh Kumar initially came to Oman in 2009 and he started a company but had to face a lot of real struggles due to a series of unprecedented and unexpected setbacks he faced due to certain personal and professional issues. However, as he returned in 2015, he took over Modern Touch LLC which had under 50 employees, and today after 8 years, GK group stands at the number close to 1000 happy colleagues. GK gives a lot of credit to the team that he has refined and formed over these years. He also mentioned how grateful he is to his family for their sacrifices and for being the support system through thick and thin. 

As GK is a Golden Visa holder now, he started working on some of his dream projects which are ambitious and innovative and are currently developed from “just a thought” to planning on papers. This includes a Modern Villa Project in Barka region and Sports Complex with world-class training and practice facilities to train and bring up world-class sports persons from Oman. 

Mr. GK closed the media briefing by stating “this honor by the Oman Government has opened up a world of opportunities for Business. This caused a major boost in morale to work more, to invest more, to experiment and innovate to give it back to the country that gave us everything”.
