MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality will impose a fine of OMR 50 on pet owners who violates the regulations while taking their pets to public places.
Muscat Municipality has already announced that pets can be taken only on specified areas and has now announced guidelines for pet owners to follow in a tweet on Thursday evening.
Muscat Municipality urged pet owners to abide by the following guidelines as stipulated in local order no (200/1) when taking pets like dogs and cats to public places:
(Dog, cats) or any other animals issued by a decision of the chairman of Muscat Municipality.
Places frequented by the public such as roads, streets, squares, sidewalks, empty plots, public squares, public parks, beaches or shared area in a building.

Owners of pets are obligated to remove the pet’s waste when roaming in public places, taking the necessary precautions to prevent the pet from disposing of waste in these places.
Pets taken to public places must wear collars.
The pet must be licensed by a competent veterinary authority at the Ministry of Agriculture, fisheries and Water Resources.
Anyone who trespasses the regulation is subject to a fine of OMR 50.
