Karwa Motors in Oman rolls out 100th bus in record 6 months

Already 88 buses were exported to Qatar and 12 more will be delivered next month for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

DUQM: Karwa Motors celebrated the production of bus number 100, which is one of the most important goals of the operations for 2022.


The 100th bus rolled out on Thursday at its factory in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).


Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, said: “With the production of the 100th bus, Karwa will have achieved the most important production goals for this year. It is an achievement for the Omani industry despite the difficulties and logistical challenges that prevailed all over the world due to COVID-19 pandemic.”


“The Karwa team worked hard to overcome technical and logistical difficulties to reach the goal of producing the number 100 bus, noting that Karwa Company has so far exported 88 buses to Qatar, and is currently planning to export 12 more buses during the middle of next month. Karwa Motors, which will be used in the 2022 World Cup,” he said

Karwa Motors is a joint stock company between Qatar – represented by Qatar Transport, which owns 70% – and the remaining share is owned by Oman Investment Authority.
